The landing of a spacecraft on Comet 67P yesterday prompted SEED Co-director Emily Style to share a poem she wrote in 1999 on the encounters she has had with comets in her life.
April is National Poetry Month. Many SEED leaders have found that sharing poems in their SEED seminars is a powerful way to offer participants mirrors of their own experiences and windows into those of others. SEED as an organization also has a history connected with poetry.
SEED Co-director Emily Style's poem envisions education through the powerful metaphor of quilting. This poem will be published in the November 2013 issue of English Journal as part of her article "Curriculum as Encounter: Selves and Shelves."
